30 Days of Running

I’ve always hated running. Perhaps a function of perpetuating my skinny stature which I’ve longly resented and still struggle to come to terms with or perhaps a distrust of those that claim running is their source of inspiration, nirvana, meditation.

To me, running is a consistent application of effort. An all consuming mental effort that feels as though there is a limitless progression. Every stride is an obstacle and every drop of sweat a reminder of the endurance not yet realized.

And that is exactly why I run. For 30 days I will increase my endurance through a running challenge. I have no target mileage in mind, but simply a goal of pushing my body further each day for 30 consecutive days. In rain, sunshine, early morning or at the stroke of midnight, I will run excuse-free. And here we go…
