Spending time to reflect on 2019 during this mid-October Sunday. Hard to believe we entered the fourth quarter of 2019 – the year has really blown by. So far, I’ve clocked hundreds of thousand of air miles traveling domestically and internationally, given dozens of speeches to leaders around the world, and seen unbelievable success from a business perspective thanks to wonderful clients who put faith in our ability to drive great impact for their business through talent. I’ve consulted with some of the biggest, most complex companies in the world and some of the smallest — on their ascent to be great.
Here’s some key learnings from my 2019 experiences:
- Be humble, but never satisfied.
- Be relentless in your ambitions, but have your success come by the way of others.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff, but expect excellence – even in the most minute details.
- Be optimistic – we’re living in a world of opportunity and despite what others may say, there’s not been a better time to be alive.
- And finally, be gracious. Give thanks to everyone in success and in failure.
Let’s end 2019 strong, and then 2020 better strap in because I’m coming for you and I won’t be stopped!
